Structure
The STARSE pre-packed screen excels in environments rich in mud and silt, as well as heavy oil reservoir, particularly in sidetracked, highly deviated, and complex trajectory wells, significantly boosting production efficiency and well longevity.Its integral design encompasses: a bridge-punched outer jacket, an outer filter mesh, pre-packed particles, an inner filter mesh, an inner support jacket, a perforated base pipe, and support rings.
Primary Filtration: The outer jacket, featuring bridge-punched slots, effectively blocks larger formation sand grains, forming a stable sand bridge for superior sand control.
Support & Drainage: The inner support layer, with holes and dot supports, creates a gap with the base pipe, offering ample drainage channels and facilitating the removal of any internal blockages.
Features
- The bridge-punched slotted outer jacket possesses robust sand control capabilities. It establishes a stable sand bridge outside the screen, effectively performing primary sand control for formations with larger particle sizes, and significantly reduces the risk of screen blockage.
- The outer jacket features laterally punched slots, allowing fluid to flow in through the side gaps without directly eroding the filter medium, thereby enhancing durability.
- The pre-packed gravel layer demonstrates exceptional erosion resistance, achieving comparable results to gravel packing. It provides more effective and precise secondary sand control.
- Based on the "controlled sand production" principle, the thickness of the gravel packing layer is carefully selected to ensure that the pre-packed medium maintains excellent permeability, further minimizing the risk of screen blockage.
