1. Structure of Rotary Flowmeter
Within the flowmeter housing lies a metering chamber containing one or two pairs of tangentially rotating
lobed rotors. Externally mounted on the housing, a pair of intermeshing drive gears are coaxially connected to the rotors, enabling synchronized counter-rotation.
2. Operating Principle (Positive Displacement)
Driven by the pressure differential between inlet and outlet:
Lobed rotors (precisely synchronized by gears) rotate in opposite directions
Sequentially form sealed chambers between rotors, housing, and end covers
Gas is periodically:
Trapped in expanding chambers (intake phase);
Displaced through contracting chambers (exhaust phase)
Volume flow is calculated by counting rotor revolutions
